Everything Was Deleted. Backups Too.

A New Zealand logistics and sourcing business lost its entire environment. Production systems. Backups. Databases. Everything was gone.

NATC received the call on a Monday morning. The situation was as bad as it gets — there was no obvious path back, no clean copy sitting safely to one side, and a business that needed to keep serving customers while the ground shifted underneath it.

By Wednesday afternoon every record, transaction and supplier email had been restored with zero data loss. The team worked the problem methodically: rebuilding the environment, recovering data from every available layer, and validating that nothing had been lost along the way.

A year later we helped merge an acquired competitor into the same live environment without disrupting operations — a reminder that the same foundations that get you out of a crisis also let you grow with confidence.

The interesting part isn't the recovery. It's how quickly a normal day became a crisis. Most businesses don't spend much time thinking about what happens if critical systems become unavailable, key information can't be accessed, or normal operations suddenly stop.

They're busy serving customers, managing suppliers, supporting staff and growing the business. Fair enough too. But situations like this are a reminder that resilience isn't built during a crisis. It's built long before one happens.

Most businesses never expect to face situations like this. Until they do.
